Čiovo sits just across the bridge from the historic town of Trogir, yet arriving by yacht feels completely separate from the mainland. Because it’s only 20 minutes from Split Airport, it’s often chosen as the first or final stop of a charter — allowing guests to board, settle in, and enjoy their first swim without entering a busy marina.
It’s not a headline island like Hvar. Its value lies in being calm, practical, and beautifully positioned.
Where You’ll Spend Time
Most yachts anchor along the southern side of Čiovo, where pine-covered slopes meet quiet residential coves. The atmosphere here is relaxed, especially once the daytime boat traffic fades.
At the eastern end of the island lies the well-known Blue Lagoon (Krknjaši). The seabed here is pale and sandy, which gives the water its unusually bright turquoise color. It’s popular during the middle of the day, but far more enjoyable in the early morning or late afternoon when it becomes quieter.
From certain northern viewpoints, you’ll see the lights of Split and Marjan Hill glowing across the channel after sunset — a subtle but beautiful backdrop for dinner on deck.
