Drvenik Island

Location

Central Dalmatia

Drvenik Veli and Drvenik Mali are two small islands northwest of Trogir, often used as the first true “island feeling” after departing from Split. With very limited development and low stone houses scattered along the shoreline, they offer a noticeable shift from mainland energy to open Adriatic calm.

Arriving by gulet, the coastline feels simple and natural — shallow turquoise bays, rocky edges, and long open views toward Šolta and the central Dalmatian islands.

Where You’ll Spend Time

The most popular stop is the Blue Lagoon on Drvenik Veli (Krknjaši Bay), known for its bright, shallow water and sandy seabed. It’s a classic lunch anchorage and works best outside peak midday hours when excursion boats pass through.

On the western side of Drvenik Veli, Solinska Bay offers a quieter setting with a small village atmosphere and a handful of waterfront houses.

Drvenik Mali is even less developed. Its coves are used primarily for swimming stops and relaxed afternoons rather than town visits.

Things to Do

Swim in the Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is the highlight of Drvenik.

Here you’ll find:

  • Shallow, light-colored seabed creating vivid turquoise water

  • Calm swimming conditions in settled weather

  • Open space ideal for spending several hours at anchor

  • A relaxed atmosphere once day traffic fades

It’s often used as the first swim stop of the charter.

Visit Solinska Bay

Solinska has a small harbor and a simple village feel. It’s quiet, residential, and unpolished — more about slowing down than sightseeing.

A short walk inland reveals olive groves and low stone walls typical of central Dalmatian islands.

Enjoy an Easy Afternoon at Anchor

Drvenik works best when kept simple — swimming, sunbathing, and a long lunch onboard before continuing toward Šolta or Hvar.
