Southern Dalmatia
Location
Southern Dalmatia
Dubrovnik is the southernmost highlight of the Croatian coast, known for its monumental stone walls rising directly above the Adriatic. Approaching by yacht is unforgettable — the fortified city appears carved from pale limestone, enclosed entirely by defensive walls that once protected the Republic of Ragusa.
Unlike smaller island stops, Dubrovnik feels monumental. It’s larger, more dramatic, and architecturally unified in a way few Mediterranean cities are.
Where You’ll Spend Time
Most yachts berth in ACI Marina Dubrovnik, located upriver in Komolac, or anchor near Lokrum Island in settled conditions.
From the marina, guests typically transfer into the old town for the evening. Entering through Pile Gate, you step directly onto the polished limestone of Stradun, the city’s main street.
Lokrum, just across from the old town, offers a quieter daytime anchorage with swimming spots and shaded walking paths.

Things to Do
Walk the City Walls
The complete circuit of Dubrovnik’s defensive walls is the defining experience.
From the top you’ll see:
Terracotta rooftops packed tightly within the walls
The Adriatic stretching toward Lokrum
Fort Lovrijenac guarding the western entrance
Narrow streets weaving below
The walk takes about 1.5–2 hours and is best done in the morning or late afternoon.
Explore the Old Town
Inside the walls, Dubrovnik is entirely pedestrian.
Key landmarks include:
Rector’s Palace
Sponza Palace
Dubrovnik Cathedral
The Franciscan Monastery with one of Europe’s oldest pharmacies
The old town feels grand yet compact — everything is within walking distance.

Take the Cable Car to Mount Srđ
For panoramic views, the cable car climbs above the city to Mount Srđ, overlooking the old town, Lokrum Island, and the open Adriatic.
Sunset from this viewpoint is one of the most photographed scenes in Croatia.
