Korčula Island
Location
Southern Dalmatia
Location
Southern Dalmatia
Korčula is often called “Little Dubrovnik” because of its medieval walls and compact stone old town rising directly from the sea. Located in Southern Dalmatia, the island combines fortified architecture, vineyards, and a slower coastal rhythm.
Arriving by yacht, the approach is striking — defensive towers, red rooftops, and the bell tower of St. Mark’s Cathedral standing above the peninsula. Unlike Dubrovnik, Korčula feels smaller and more intimate.
Where You’ll Spend Time
Most yachts berth in Korčula Town marina or anchor just outside the old walls in calm conditions.
The old town is built in a distinctive fishbone street pattern designed to reduce wind while allowing airflow. Everything is within a short walking distance — from the cathedral square to waterfront cocktail bars overlooking the Pelješac Channel.
Evenings here are lively but not overwhelming, with restaurants and wine bars filling gradually after sunset.

Things to Do
Explore the Old Town
Korčula’s historic center is compact and entirely pedestrian.
Inside the walls you’ll find:
St. Mark’s Cathedral at the main square
The alleged birthplace of Marco Polo
Stone stairways connecting narrow alleys
Small artisan shops and wine bars
The entire town can be explored in under two hours at a relaxed pace.
Wine Tasting on the Island
Korčula is known for white wines such as Pošip and Grk. Vineyards stretch across the island’s interior, and tastings can be arranged in nearby villages like Lumbarda.
It’s an easy half-day inland experience before returning to the yacht.
Swim Near the Old Walls
Small swimming spots lie just outside the town, particularly along the eastern side facing the channel. Many guests prefer a swim from the yacht before heading ashore in the evening.
Restaurants in Korčula
