Žirje Island
Location
Central Dalmatia
Location
Central Dalmatia
Žirje is the outermost inhabited island of the Šibenik archipelago, positioned further into the open Adriatic than most charter stops. It feels noticeably more remote — fewer houses, fewer boats, and long stretches of untouched coastline.
It’s not about old towns or nightlife. Žirje is chosen for space, silence, and clear water far from mainland traffic.

Where You’ll Spend Time
Most yachts anchor in Stupica Bay (Velika or Mala), two well-protected coves on the southern side of the island. The shoreline here is natural and undeveloped, with low stone houses scattered above the water.
Another common stop is Muna Bay on the western side, a small fishing settlement with a handful of waterfront houses and simple restaurants.
The coastline around Žirje is rugged and open, and the sea feels deeper and darker blue than inner islands closer to the mainland.
Things to Do
Swim & Relax in Stupica
Stupica is the island’s calmest anchorage and ideal for a long swim stop.
Here you’ll find:
Clear, open water with minimal boat traffic
Rocky shoreline with very little development
Wide sunset views toward Kornati
Quiet evenings with almost no light pollution
It’s the kind of place where most guests stay onboard and enjoy dinner on deck.
Visit Fortifications on the Island
Žirje has a quiet military history. Remains of old fortifications and bunkers can still be found inland, reminders of its strategic position guarding the Šibenik channel.
Short walks above the bays offer open views toward the Kornati islands.

Restaurants on Žirje
Dining is limited and focused mainly around Muna and Stupica.
Konoba Stupica
Family-run restaurant near the bay serving grilled fish and simple Dalmatian dishes.
Konoba Kod Dragana (Muna)
Local seafood, often based on the daily catch.
Reservations are usually arranged through the crew, especially in peak season.
Hotels (Pre / Post Charter)
Žirje does not have significant hotel infrastructure. It is primarily experienced by yacht or private accommodation.
Guests typically combine a stop here with stays in Šibenik, Split, or Hvar before or after the charter.
